Moving slowly. Experiencing deeply. Traveling with intention.

I choose to travel human powered because it changes the way you experience the world. Moving by car, plane, or motor allows you to see places and that has value. But moving by your own strength, forces you to slow down and truly feel where you are. You experience the rain, the heat, the wind, the up and downhill, and so much more. You don’t pass landscapes quickly, you move through them. You don’t travel from city to city, but from village to village, where everyday life unfolds at a human pace.

Slowing down to experience the world

Moving at human speed changes your relationship with the world. You don’t pass through places, you engage with them. Conversations happen naturally, landscapes come gradually, and you go back to basics. This simple perspective offers an understanding of regions and communities that can’t be gained by moving fast or from a distance.

I sometimes believe that every president should first cycle through their own country before leading it, to understand what is really happening on the ground.

Conscious Travel & Environment

There is also an environmental dimension to this choice. Humanpowered travel is not about telling people to cycle across continents, but about awareness. When you move slowly and rely on your own energy, distances regain their meaning. It naturally leads to more conscious decisions, in travel, consumption, and daily life. I hope to inspire people making small conscious choices in the way they commute, go to grocery stores,…

Reflection Through Movement

Just as important is what happens internally. Long, slow journeys create space for reflection. Without constant distraction, you are confronted with fatigue, doubt, and simplicity. Over time, perspective shifts. What felt urgent becomes less important, and what truly matters becomes clearer.

Fair Means of Adventure

Finally, I believe in fair means of adventure. Reaching a mountain or a destination carries more weight when the journey itself demands commitment, patience, and respect for the environment it passes through. Humanpowered travel is not about proving strength, it’s about earning experiences.
